Tango Spleen

The tango ensemble based in northern Italy, created and directed by the argentinian musician Mariano Speranza, is already appreciated as "…one of the most acclaimed tango orchestras of the last period", performing regularly in Europe, Asia and Argentina.

Large success is obtained in festivals and theatres in Italy, among the others we remember La Società dei Concerti of Milan, Valtidone Festival, Festival Latinoamericando of Milan, "I Concerti nel Parco" in Rome, "Suoni entro le Mura" in Treviso, "Sotto le stelle di Galla Placidia" in Ravenna ("Tutti pazzi per il Tango…Spleen") and "L'altro lato del violino" in Cremona ("Calorosi applausi per l’ensemble"), and many others.

At the same time Tango Spleen carries on an intense and recognised activity on the international Tango scene: revelation at the 2011 edition of the Festival Nacional de Tango de La Falda in Argentina, it is also regularly invited as principal orchestra in international tango festivals, such as Torino Tango Festival (Italia), Trieste Tango Festival (Italia), Montpellier Tango Festival (Francia), Tarbes en Tango Festival (Francia), Tango Rio Festival (Russia), Tango d'Amore (Ucraina), Monte-Carlo Tango Festival (Monaco), Bielefeld Tango Festival (Germania), Misterio Tango Festival Europa (Francia), Innsbruck Tango Festival (Austria), Blackpool Tango Festival (Gran Bretagna), Tango Especial (Paesi Bassi) and many others. It has realised many tours, in 2011 in the main cities in South Korea and in Argentina performing in famous tango venues of Buenos Aires and Cordoba "Bellísimo espectáculo brindado por la orquesta Tango Spleen". In 2013 it was invited to take part in "A passo di tango in onore di Papa Francesco", a show held in Rome to celebrate the new argenitnian Pope, with live tv and radio broadcasting on italian and foreign channels.

The ensemble is in charge of the music part of several shows based on music and dance.

Tango Spleen was hosted on several specialised journals, such as El Tanguero (Italia) "...one of the nowadays most acclaimed tango orchestras" and La Salida (Francia) "Mariano Speranza et la Orquesta Tango Spleen, une question d’atmosphère", "travail soigné, bien installé dans le tango pour le bal", and in several television and radio broadcasts in Italy and abroad among which La 2×4, Radio Mundial del Tango of Buenos Aires, Rai Italia, Cadena LV3 Argentina and many others.

Tango Spleen has published three albums: "Canto para seguir" in 2015 "un amalgamiento musical y instrumental realmente magnifico" (Radio La 2×4 Buenos Aires), "Típico" for Abeat Records in 2011, "Tango Spleen” in 2010 which contains the original piece "Milonga Schupi" winner of the national competition "Suoni Senza Confini" in 2010, promoted by Fondazione Pubblicità Progresso, under the high patronage of the Presidency of Italian Republic.
